The Literary Café of Rome is located in the area of the former General Markets, transformed from the old slaughterhouse into the “City of the Arts”, an increasingly dynamic hub for culture and entertainment.
The Literary Café is an intercultural space born from the idea of combining a bookstore with specific themes and a café, conceived not only as a meeting/relaxation space typical of certain structured venues, but also as a “cultural place” where hubs for the exchange of ideas can come to life. A hybrid form of communication that makes it possible to integrate a commercial service with cultural activities, allowing those who create art and culture to be in direct contact not only with those who enjoy it, but above all with those who distribute it. The Literary Café, designed by architects Vincenzo Pultrone and Alfredo Caporale, is a multifunctional space of about one thousand square meters, where commercial and cultural activities coexist, intersect, and influence one another. Inside the Literary Café there is a cinema hall, a bookstore, a section of the Rome public library, a web TV, a concert hall, a restaurant, exhibition rooms, a bar, and a conference room. Numerous personalities have presented cultural and artistic projects within its walls.
